Van Cleef & Arpels Midnight reaches boutiques: two time zones on a brown enamel dial

Unveiled in April, Midnight Heure d’ici & Heure d’ailleurs enters boutiques from October 12. A 38 mm rose-gold case houses double jumping hours and retrograde minutes.
From April unveiling to October arrival
Van Cleef & Arpels announces the Midnight Heure d’ici & Heure d’ailleurs watch in boutiques from October 12, 2026. It appeared in the Maison’s official Watches and Wonders announcement on April 14, so October marks its boutique arrival, not its first unveiling. Reference VCARPEVI00 combines a 38 mm 18K rose-gold case, brown enamel dial and black alligator strap.
Two windows, shared minutes
The upper window displays the local hour and the lower window a second time zone. Both jump together, while a retrograde hand indicates minutes. The Maison frames this arrangement as a poetic interpretation of travel: two places share one progression of minutes. The self-winding movement offers a 65-hour power reserve, dividing the display between windows and an arcing scale.
Enamel and a celestial caseback
The official description presents an enamel dial with a guilloché appearance radiating from a piqué motif; its brown colour shifts between warm and cool tones with the light. Rose-gold markings contrast with the darker ground. The back photograph reveals sun, moon and star engravings. JEWEL DAILY observes that geometric texture on the front and celestial decoration on the reverse extend the themes of travel and time.
On the wrist and within the collection
The product gallery includes two wearing photographs, front views at different hand positions, an oblique view and the caseback, allowing comparison of the 38 mm diameter, lugs and crown. The same thematic page also shows the Pierre Arpels Heure d’Ici & Heure d’Ailleurs as collection context. Its white dial and white-gold design are identified here as a reference model, separate from the new Midnight.

Heure d'ici
& Heure d'ailleurs watches
The Heure d’Ici & Heure d’Ailleurs watches combine two time zones. The Heure d’ici—the baseline hour presented in the upper window—and the Heure d’ailleurs, the hour displayed in the second time zone window located on the bottom of the dial, advance simultaneously thanks to two sector gears that synchronize the two discs and the retrograde minute hand. These creations present an understated yet poetic interpretation of travel.
The design of the 38-mm Midnight case accentuates the harmonious balance between the polished, satiny rose gold of the case and hour markings, and the subtle tones of the embossed enamel making up the dial, its brown nuances taking on warm or cold accents depending on the light. The dial presents a guilloché aesthetic radiating out from a piqué motif recalling the Van Cleef & Arpels hallmark. The Maison invites you to discover the Midnight Heure d'ici & Heure d'ailleurs watch in boutiques from October 12, 2026.
