Louis Vuitton adds eight Le Damier designs: a checkerboard in motion

The works and their design
Louis Vuitton announced eight Le Damier additions on 18 September 2026. Drawing on its 1888 Damier pattern, the selection includes large hoops in three gold colours, two ear cuffs, a chain bracelet, a sliding pendant and a wider cuff. Round diamonds, gold squares and articulated links carry the same graphic idea across different forms. The pendant changes length through a sliding construction.
JEWEL DAILY perspective
JEWEL DAILY focuses on how pattern becomes structure. The setting photograph shows a round diamond held by four beads inside a square; the assembly image reveals separate links building a continuous surface. The pendant’s vertical line and the hoops’ closed curves give that shared motif different rhythms. Gold colour, width and freedom of movement offer more useful comparisons than stone count alone.
