januka HOLLOW turns a structural slit into ornament
janukaHollow construction preserves volume while making the opening part of the visible design.

The works and their design
januka introduced HOLLOW on 29 September 2026, ahead of October presentations in Aoyama and Isetan Shinjuku. The brand traces its development to a reconsideration of metal use and cost. An internal cavity preserves visual volume, while the manufacturing slit becomes a visible line. Rings, earrings, necklaces and bangles use different materials including silver, 18K gold and Pt900; some designs place stones along the slit.
JEWEL DAILY perspective
JEWEL DAILY reads the opening as both contour and ornament. The cross-section explains internal space; the gem-set detail shows stones following that line. Polished versions use reflection to emphasise rounded volume, while the slit gives it direction. Lightness is the brand’s design aim: photographs explain the structure, but cannot substitute for actual weight or the experience of wearing it.
