Buccellati’s Milan Caviar Bar brings silverware into hospitality

Chahan Minassian’s new space at Palazzo Gavazzi draws on the Caviar silverware collection, linking the house’s beaded decoration with the art of entertaining.
A new space within the flagship
Buccellati has added a Caviar Bar to its Palazzo Gavazzi flagship at Via Monte Napoleone 23 in Milan. Designed by Chahan Minassian and reported by Wallpaper* on 9 September 2026, it overlooks the courtyard and serves clients and guests. It continues the collaboration behind the store’s Piano Nobile showroom.
Silverware as a design reference
The design refers to Buccellati’s Caviar tableware, a collection with roots in the 1930s and a signature micro-beaded motif. Silver reflections, vessel forms and display rhythms inform the interior. This is a development in the house’s presentation of silverwork and hospitality, rather than a new jewellery collection.
Mirrors, textiles and two levels
A glazed mezzanine overlooks a central bar. Copper, silver and smoky-grey mirrors move light through the room; velvet, Fortuny fabrics, leather and rugs provide softer textures. Minassian designed furniture for the space and added vintage Murano glass chandeliers, connecting its materials and colours with the Piano Nobile.
Objects in use
The setting includes Caviar glasses and tableware, pieces made with Ginori, Murano coloured glass and Furry Animals silver sculptures. Photographs place the objects on the bar, tables and shelves. JEWEL DAILY sees this as an extension of craftsmanship into hospitality, where scale, texture and combinations become part of how visitors encounter the house.

Storied jewellery and silverware house Buccellati and Armenian-Lebanese interior designer Chahan Minassian work together like caviar and mother-of-pearl. Having previously collaborated on the expansion of the Maison’s Milan flagship store with the opening of a grand ‘Piano Nobile’ showroom on its first floor, their creative partnership is back in bloom with an intimate caviar bar overlooking the courtyard.
Experience Buccellati’s Art de la Table in Milan
Dedicated to the art of entertainment, the new space visually references Buccellati’s timeless caviar tableware collection: an emblematic range dating back to the 1930s and beloved for its signature micro-beaded motif and exceptional silversmithing craftsmanship. The Palazzo’s Neoclassical bones, originally designed by Luigi Chierichetti and completed in 1839, converse effortlessly with the soothing colour palette that defines the furnishings and fixtures.
‘Maintaining a residential spirit was essential,’ says Chahan Minassian. ‘The objective was to create an interior that felt welcoming and lived-in while preserving the architectural grandeur of Palazzo Gavazzi. The mirrors introduce light, movement and depth, while the materials, textiles and Murano glass bring warmth and intimacy.’
Past a gallery-style entrance, the caviar bar unfolds across two levels, with a glazed mezzanine overlooking a central bar and an arrangement of plush lounge chairs and sculptural bistro tables that are reserved for clients and guests. Above, vaulted surfaces, clad entirely in copper, silver and smoky-grey mirrored panels, split daylight across the room.
Throughout, silvery greys and taupes co-exist with accents of bronze and gold, while velvet, Fortuny fabrics, textured leather and custom rugs counter the harder reflective surfaces. Minassian designed each piece of furniture for the room, then added vintage Murano glass chandeliers with a characteristic amber light. The same colours and materials appeared in Minassian’s earlier work on the Piano Nobile, creating continuity between Buccellati’s retail and hospitality spaces.
Alongside the micro-beaded caviar line-up, including wine glasses, holders, and serving plates, are Buccellati’s pieces made with Ginori, coloured glass from its Murano Collection and the Furry Animals series of sculptural silver creatures, as presented during the 2025 edition of Milan Design Week.
Buccellati is located at Via Monte Napoleone, 23, 20121 Milan, Italy
