Gold jewellery demand: Q2 2026
画像 · World Gold Council / Metals Focus / ICE Benchmark AdministrationThe jewellery chapter separates demand by weight from consumer spending and compares major markets. It examines how high gold prices affect budgets, lighter products and purchasing behaviour, with regional tables and downloadable research.
What the report says
World Gold Council reports Q2 2026 global gold-jewellery demand of 278.2 tonnes, down 17% year on year. First-half demand value rose 22%, underscoring the divergence between purchased weight and spending.
JEWEL DAILY perspective
Our reading: distinguish higher prices from more sales. Review pieces sold, fine weight, ticket value and margin together; revenue growth driven by metal prices does not by itself demonstrate stronger traffic or brand appeal.
Compare different weights and techniques within a customer’s budget. Lightweight design should also address visual volume, structural integrity, repairability and clear workmanship charges, rather than simply making an existing piece smaller.
